Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling
together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together…

BZC Berkeley Russian Dove Dumbo 8/28/06 – 7/05/08 SGR Heavenly Harlan X SGR Pretty Woman Berkeley and his daughter, Victoria, caught a nasty respiratory infection that did not respond to several weeks on antibiotics. They were euthanized on 7/05/08. Berkeley was a very large boy (27 ounces) and wowed the judge with his stocky build and mellow character at the 2007 NIRO show. He just laid on his back in the judges hand as if to say, "Gotta love me!" He passed his wonderful temperament on to his babies.

DAZL Mistletoe (Russian Blue dumbo) 11/15/06 – 3/3/09 DAZL Watermark X DAZL MorningGlory Mistletoe was bred to BZC Berkeley, and gave us WLLW Macy, WLLW Victoria’s Secret and WLLW Miles Kimball; only Macy is still with us but was spayed after a c-section, so this line ended. Mistletoe lived to a good old age (27 mos.) but was suffering with respiratory issues that no longer responded to medication, so it was time to say "goodbye" along with her cagemate, Lucky Charms. They will be missed!

SGR Storm Tracks (Black w/white feet, standard ear & coat) 8/28/06- 5/01/09 SGR Molasses Carl X MW Silver Mist
“Storm” was the best Standard Ear/ Standard Coat Marked Buck at the 2007 NIRO RSA-Sanctioned Fancy Rat Show on May 19, 2007.
The day I acquired Storm as a baby from SGR, he hopped on my shoulder and snuggled against my neck and ear; he was one of my favorites from that moment on, and changed my mind about “boring black rats”.
Storm was put to sleep when the effects of old age made life too unkind; he was 32 months of age.
